History
- around 1800The inn began as a farmhouse near Muri church, with a barn and outbuildings.
- 1829Mayor Christian Bigler received permission to serve drinks at his home, naming the tavern Sonne.
- 1834Bigler received a licence to serve food and provide lodging for people and horses.
- 1844The tavern was renamed Sternen.
- 1899Karl-Rudolf Niederhäuser bought the inn. Renovations shaped its dining room, loggia and halls.

- 2003Erich and Marlis Badertscher took over the building and continued it as a hotel and restaurant.
- 2007Muri's municipal inventory designated the inn a building worthy of preservation.
- 2010A renovation modernized the dining room, kitchen, loggia, lobby, entrances and guest toilets.
- 2014The Grotto became Vinum.
- 2016The hotel roof and third floor were refurbished and fitted with two photovoltaic systems.
- 2021A terrace for 60 people was added, and seven annex rooms were renovated.
- 2021–2022The north and east facades were restored under heritage-preservation supervision; work ended in January 2022.
- 2025Water damage closed the seminar wing through March and the Vinum rooms through summer.
