History

Amateur entomologist Clive Farrell bought the land and began building a butterfly house.

  1. 1985Botanist David Bellamy opened the butterfly house.
  2. 3 June 2002A misdirected firework rocket damaged the glass butterfly nursery. Most of its roughly 90 butterflies were saved. The farm remained open, with only a small greenhouse section needing replanting.
