History
Bill Loder’s seafood career began on the New Jersey shore. Blue crabs were the family’s roadside specialty, sold alongside a small seafood joint. The original Wolfies site later became the Fish Market.
- 1954Bill and Dolores had been in the seafood business since they married.
- 1982The family left Captain Bill’s; Eleanor came up with the name Crabby Bill’s.
- April 28, 1983The Loders opened Crabby Bill’s in Indian Rocks Beach, at the former Wolfies hotdog stand.
- February 1987The family acquired the southwest-corner building that is now the restaurant.
