History
Oil drilling outside Erding uncovered sulfurous water, leading to the development of the thermal complex. Josef Wund and Jörg Wund designed it.
- 10 Nov 1998Foundation stone laid.
- 3 Oct 1999Opened with thermal bathing and a textile-free sauna area.
- Mar–Apr 2007The sauna expansion and Galaxy opening more than doubled the complex’s floor area, from 70,000 to 145,000 m².
- Sep 2008Three Vital-Quellen mineral pools opened in VitalOase.
- 2014Eight outdoor slides began operating, and the wave pool area opened in October.

- Towels and bathrobes can be borrowed at reception.

With kids
- Children aged three and under enter the Therme free.
- The indoor thermal area has a children’s pool.
- The wave pool area has two children’s pools.
Know before you go
- Wear swimwear in the thermal bathing areas and VitalOase; the sauna world is textile-free.
- VitalOase and the textile-free sauna area are for visitors aged 16 and over.
- Therme admission includes The Wave and Galaxy; VitalOase costs extra.
- High Fly and the Finnish Sauna are closed for maintenance.
- The artificial lake in the outdoor sauna area is not for swimming.
Season and conditions
- The thermal area’s 56-metre glass dome can open halfway in warm weather.
- Galaxy’s 25-metre metal dome can open partway in summer.
- The main sauna building’s glass roof can open fully in good weather.

- 34°C, 1,200 m²; the area also has whirlpools and outdoor pools
How to get there
- CarThe spa stands on the B388.
- TrainAltenerding station, about one kilometre away, is on the S2 route between Erding and Petershausen via Munich.
- BusBuses 525, 527 and 528 serve Altenerding station and stop directly at the spa.
