Flight of the Hippogriff is a junior roller coaster opposite Hogwarts Castle.
Dino Play is a jungle gym for children too small to ride Jurassic World: The Ride.

Tips for your visit

The Studio Tour departs from the Upper Lot; allow about an hour for the tour.
Use the Starway escalators to travel between the Upper and Lower Lots; they descend near The Simpsons Ride.

History

Laemmle later let the public tour the studio for five cents, with a boxed chicken lunch included. The park grew from those studio tours. The park’s attractions now span the Upper and Lower Lots, connected by escalators.

1914Carl Laemmle founded Universal City as a studio with its own zoo, police force and mayor.
1915The studio opened at a two-day event attended by 10,000 people.
Around 1930The original studio tour ended as sound films required better soundproofing.
1964The modern studio tour began on July 15, with dressing room walks, glimpses of production and staged events.
1968Flash Flood opened, sending 20,000 gallons of water down a village street.

June 1, 2008A fire destroyed several film sets, including parts of Courthouse Square. The park reopened a few days later.
2016The Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened in the Upper Lot.
2023Super Nintendo World opened on February 17.

How to get there

TrainTake Metro’s B line to Universal City/Studio City station; the park is accessible from there.
BusMetro Local buses 150, 155, 224 and 240 stop at Lankershim Boulevard and Universal Center Drive, by the front entrance.
TramFrom the front entrance, a free shuttle tram runs toward the theme park entrance.
