History

He later gave the building to the City of Geneva. The fire destroyed paintings by Ernest Biéler; the city subsequently restored the building.

  1. 1883Daniel Fitzgerald Packenham Barton founded Harmonie nautique.
  2. 1891–1894John Camoletti built Victoria Hall for the Harmonie nautique.
  3. 1894Theodor Kuhn built the first organ; Charles-Marie Widor designed its composition.
  4. 1949A large neoclassical organ replaced the first organ.
  5. 1984Arson caused a fire on 16 September. It destroyed the 1949 organ and damaged the interior decoration.
