Winter activities in the park include snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, hiking, sledding and Parks Canada interpretive programs.Some park areas remain closed after fire damage. Trails, scenic drives, outlooks and day-use areas have reopened.

- 8 Sep 2017Parks Canada issued a mandatory evacuation order as the fire spread toward Waterton.
- 11 Sep 2017The fire reached Cameron Valley, and crews held its perimeter around the Waterton townsite.
- 20 Sep 2017Rain and cooler weather helped contain the fire, and the evacuation order was lifted.
