History
Permanent rides added from 1996 came mainly from Metallbau Emmeln and Heege. Die Heiße Fahrt was built beside the animal enclosures on nearly 12,000 square metres. The wildlife collection has included brown bears, lynxes, fallow deer, emus, ostriches and wapitis. The park’s mascot is Klotti, a bear.
- 1970The Hennes family founded a wildlife park whose main attraction was a large brown bear enclosure.
- 1995Brothers Josef and Hubert Hennes took over management from their father.
- 1996The brothers began adding permanent rides, most bought from Metallbau Emmeln and Heege.
- 2003The bear enclosure was renovated. A €4.5 million expansion project began, including a volcano, coaster, log flume and restaurant.
- 2004Die Heiße Fahrt, the park’s first roller coaster, opened on 1 April.
