История
The private Niagara International Centre consortium financed the C$7-million project with funding from Hershey Company. Canadian Pacific Hotels was hired to operate the lounge and restaurants.
- 1964Construction began with foundation work in May. Concrete casting began on September 23, and the tower rose 3.65 metres a day. Its name was announced on October 28.
- 1965The tower opened on October 6, with New York Governor Nelson Rockefeller and Ontario Premier John Robarts in attendance. Its Yellow Bug elevators were the first outside-mounted elevators of their kind in Canada.
- 2008The observation pod roof was restored to its original bronze colour in August and September.
