Tarihçe
The grounds evolved from a formal French-style garden, shown in a 1789 plan, into an English-style landscape of winding paths and irregular plantings by 1848. William Favre later added a spring-fed lake and an alpine garden.
- 1660Jacques Franconis established the estate.
- 1768–1773Marc Lullin’s sons built the country house that became Villa La Grange.
- 1821The villa began housing Guillaume Favre’s library.
- 1864The villa hosted the closing session of the conference at which the first Geneva Convention was signed.
- 1917–1918William Favre signed the gift agreement in 1917; the estate passed to Geneva and opened as a public park in 1918. The villa was reserved for official receptions and guests.
