About

Kanaka ʻŌiwi cultural leader Keʻeaumoku Kapu and his family fight to reclaim their ancestral lands in Kauaʻula Valley, Maui. Through family histories, community memories, and nearly two decades of legal battles, the documentary traces the lasting impacts of colonization, plantation agriculture, militarization, and development on Native Hawaiian land and water rights. Blending archival materials with contemporary community life, it is a powerful portrait of Indigenous resilience, cultural sovereignty, and the intergenerational responsibility to mālama ʻāina for future generations.
