About

Purchase Tickets for Sunday, October 25 Purchase tickets for Monday, October 26 Cellist and conductor Eric Jacobsen returns with an all-star ensemble of chamber music luminaries for a program of wit, character, and fiery virtuosity. DC’s celebrated artistic leaders, violinist Nurit Bar-Josef and violist Dana Kelley, join acclaimed pianist Steve Beck —renowned for his expansive discography—for an evening that moves from Mozart’s impossibly perfect duo writing to Debussy’s decadent, color-soaked cello sonata, where, as the composer declared, “pleasure is the law.” The concert culminates in Brahms’s sweeping G-minor Piano Quartet, with its electrifying Rondo alla Zingarese, a whirlwind of gypsy-inspired dance rhythms and unbridled passion.
