Beat Root Revival

Beat Root Revival is the boundlessly energetic, multi-instrumentalist roots duo of Ben Jones and Andrea Magee, two songwriters and powerhouse harmonic vocalists who combine elements of folk, blues, country, rock ’n’ roll, and ’60s pop to create an irresistible melodic sound. Originally from England and Northern Ireland, respectively, Jones and Magee first started collaborating together in the U.K. a decade ago and soon after moved to the States, looking for a new life and to share their music far and wide. With just a guitar, a Bodhran, and a hunger in their harmonies and songs, they adopted Austin as their new hometown, and they’ve been winning fans and acclaim ever since. And though they’ve both also established themselves as successful solo artists outside of Beat Root — not to mention as members of other popular combos on the local scene — their chemistry together remains undeniable. They’ve released two albums to date (2016’s Beat Root Revival and 2019’s Up), and toured extensively, including breakthrough runs supporting the Brian Setzer Orchestra and Beach Boys legend Brian Wilson.
