Clifton Hill and the Fallsview area were revitalized. Modernization and rebuilding projects are underway around Queen Street downtown.

- 1903Niagara Falls incorporated after merging with Drummondville to the south. Heavy industry was important to the city.
- 1970s–1980Electrochemical and electrometallurgical industries left during a major recession, and tourism became the city's main source of income.
