History
The original tea room stood far from the village and could be reached only via Reidstrasse.
- 1947Johann Julen bought the property, then a tea room.
- 1947–1990Julen expanded the tea room into a hotel, adding rooms and amenities.
- 1989A tunnel connected the hotel directly to the village.
- 1990The hotel took its present form, combining traditional Swiss style with modern comfort.
- 2012Sebastian and Anna took over after Maria Josepha Julen managed the hotel.

- TrainZermatt is car-free. Arrive by train, or drive to Täsch and continue by shuttle train or taxi.
- 5 minOn footFrom Zermatt station, walk five minutes to the hotel through the tunnel at Wiestistrasse 8. This entrance avoids the 20-minute walk to the main entrance at Riedweg 35.
