Gentleman

Datum: Mo. 02.11.2026 Beginn: 20:00 Einlass: 19:00 Of course, every album is a “Gentleman album.” But with GRATITUDE, for the first time in a long while, there was no plan, no ego, and no pressure. Just the real urge to make these songs. When I realized that a person only lives about 4,000 weeks if they reach the age of 80, it was a shock. I’m 51 now — that’s roughly 30 summers left. This realization came at a time when, after many years of chart success, awards, TV show appearances, and one tour after another, things weren’t running as smoothly anymore and I was given an unexpected break that made me think. The rush — which I enjoyed a lot, though it can be exhausting — faded, and I found myself facing the question of what comes next. Today I would call it “healthy downsizing,” but back then it was unfamiliar. Fortunately, I’ve always been a family person and can totally enjoy everyday life. I am completely happy taking my daughter to school, going grocery shopping, having an afternoon nap, reading a book, walking the dog, watering the plants in the evening, and simply having time. That’s when I thought: I don’t have to do this.
